How we hire

Four things we look for, every time.

We pass on plenty of qualified candidates. The technical bar is high, but it’s only the starting line. What matters most to us is whether someone fits how we work - and how families experience us week to week, so we can build trust with the families we serve.

  1. Clinical depth that holds up under supervision.

    Anyone can run a play-based session on a good day. We hire clinicians and technicians whose work holds up under weekly 1:1 supervision, monthly progress review, and a parent watching from across the room - every week, not just orientation week.

  2. Warm with adults, warmer with children.

    ABA only works if a child trusts the person delivering it. We screen heavily for warmth in candidate interactions - not just credentials. If we wouldn't want them in our own kid's room, we don't bring them into yours.

  3. Willingness to be coached, not just to coach.

    Every Clementine team member receives ongoing supervision and feedback. The best clinicians we have welcome it. The candidates we pass on are the ones who treat feedback as a personal slight.

  4. Stays. Doesn't churn.

    Continuity matters for kids. We design hiring, scheduling, supervision, and compensation around retention - not headcount growth. If a candidate looks like a 6-month stop on the way to somewhere else, we usually don't extend an offer.

Common questions from candidates.

About the work

  • Are you a national chain or a private-equity rollup?

    Neither. Clementine ABA is an independent led practice. While we plan to enter into more states in the future, we put care before profits. That’s the whole point.

  • What hours do you typically schedule?

    Most BCBA and RBT roles are weekday daytime, aligned with school-aged children and pre-K families. We don’t expect anyone to flex into evenings or weekends unless a specific family need calls for it - and that’s paid time, not goodwill.

  • Will I have to work across multiple locations?

    We schedule for continuity. If you’re center-based, you’re at the same center. If you’re in-home, we cluster your families geographically. Multi-location floating isn’t a model we use - it’s bad for kids and bad for staff retention.

Training and growth

  • What does training actually look like for a new hire?

    For RBTs: training before any direct family work to make sure you are ready and confident, if needed. For BCBAs: clinical orientation, case-shadow time with current clinical leadership, and a structured ramp before holding cases independently, if needed. For coordinators: intake-system training, insurance landscape, and consent/HIPAA fundamentals.

  • Do you support continuing education?

    Yes. Ongoing CEUs for BCBA’s, structured supervision for RBT’s, and supervision hours for team members pursuing BCBA certification. Growing the people who work here is part of how we grow the practice.

  • Can I pursue BCBA certification while working as an RBT?

    Yes - and many of our team members do. Your supervision hours with our BCBAs count toward the BACB requirement, and we structure schedules so coursework and supervised hours fit alongside the role.

Comp and benefits

  • Why don't you publish exact salary numbers on this page?

    Comp varies by role, region, certification, and experience. We won’t lowball you - we hire slowly because we want offers to stick.

  • Do you offer fully remote roles?

    Clinical roles are in-person - sessions happen with families, in homes, centers, and schools. Family coordinator roles include some hybrid flexibility depending on region. We don’t pretend ABA can be delivered through a screen.
